Rohde Nielsen crews busy on Lynetteholm dredging project

Rohde Nielsen is part of the port development and capital dredging project named "Lynetteholm Enterprise 1" – Copenhagen’s man-made island.

From December 2021 to December 2022, RN units Ajax R, Roar R, Hugin R, Munin R, Ull R, and Balder R, will dredge approximately 51.300 m3 to deposit onshore and 172.700 m3 offshore.

To execute this port development, Rohde Nielsen will deliver the overall quantity of 618.752 m3 sand.

With the development of Lynetteholm, Copenhagen envisions the creation of a peninsula that will act as a storm surge protection and landfill.

Lynetteholm will be built by development company By & Havn (City & Port).

Rohde Nielsen operates worldwide as a general contractor as well as a subcontractor. Our overall objective is clear and ambitious: We strive to retain our position as the largest independent dredging contractor in Scandinavia, and to be a preferred partner in dredging projects worldwide.

Rohde Nielsen was established in 1968, with the acquisition of M/S Amanda. The vessel was originally bought as a training vessel for seafarers at Mr. Rohde Nielsen’s other company "Handelsflådens Kursuscenter", a letter school for seafarers. However, Mr. Rohde Nielsen immediately started to operate the vessel commercially when it was not used for practical training of seafarers.

Rohde Nielsen runs a modern fleet of more than 40 specially built, versatile vessels, operating all over the world. Whether it is close to shore or offshore, we offer a broad variety of vessels, fitted with the latest technology.

Regardless of location, conditions and operational requirements, Rohde Nielsen has a strong organisation and the necessary vessels to get the job done right and on time.

Our highly manoeuvrable vessels with shallow draught are capable of working close to the shore. Because some have been modified and strengthened, and they all have the most sophisticated technology on board, our vessels can operate in the most challenging conditions.

Superior technical solutions, a well-maintained and highly reliable fleet, and strict control of logistics are key factors enabling the very dedicated staff and seafarers to meet operational deadlines on time - and within budget.
